Tip of the Pops

English Summer Fair

Frequently Asked Questions

What is it?

Experimental solar powered wheelbarrow disco made from waste reclaimed by DJ Dynamo. Tip of the Pops is musical comedy activism enjoyed by all ages and will help green-up your event by providing renewable energy and entertainment. See booking options and press release for details or read the background and history interview.

What’s it used for?

For parties I have the freedom to set up anywhere, no power required. Unique for boats, beaches, barbeques campsites, village halls, etc. you name it I’ll play it  !

Weddings and venues with no mains electricity such as the Earthhouse at Cranborne Ancient Technology Centre

Festivals I can join in with parades and other on-site activities, even do a mini-tour!  I can set-up in a tiny space and at short notice to fill-in wherever necessary. I do not mind other people using my equipment either for DJ’ing workshops / youth-work / beatbox etc.

At the Earthwise gathering and Boscombe Communty fair I was entertaining kids as well as all of the above !

The project is not-for-profit meaning that private and commercial bookings help subsidise our recycling and renewable themed ecotainment in the community

Where is it?

Tip of the Pops is located in Dorset, England, you can also find us on F a c e b o o k. View the Events page OR for booking and availability please contact me.

How loud is it?

We can provide a larger sound and lighting system that works with Tip of the Pops. If you would like it louder or have any other requirements please just ask ! I also have a small sound system as I am limited to what I can carry on my barrow !  In the past I have a used a 100 watt speaker to entertain about 50 people at a time.  It’s very low volume compared to alternative mobile discos but maximum fun and completely environmental.

Did you really find the equipment and music at the recycling centre?
